Cells tri radiate, as long as broad or somewhat longer than broad, cells deeply constricted. Sinus widely open, apex acute. Cells measure 20-45 µm in length, 20-35 µm in breadth, 13-17 µm broad at isthmus. semi cells cuneate with smooth wall; chloroplast axile, one per semi cell with a central pyrenoid.
Ecology
Occurs as benthos and tychoplankton and it prefers acidic, oligotrophic water bodies
